I Heart Valentine’s Day

When approached about doing a cover story for this issue, I jumped on it. Valentine’s Day is perhaps my favorite holiday of them all, including Christmas and the Fourth of July. Why? Well, if you get right down to it, most holidays are about love. Love of mothers and fathers, love of country, love of God. Sure, one could argue […]

Your bedroom:

the Feng Shui way

Attracting romantic love or the right relationship is deeply connected to your ability to share yourself with another as the individual you truly are. Your bedroom is meant for sleeping, dreaming, romancing, and recharging your batteries. Return the bedroom to its original role by removing desks, computers, televisions, exercise equipment, and dirty laundry. Place your bed so you can easily […]

The courage to risk loving

The other night I was watching an online film of Tony Robbins and Cloe Mandanes. Robbins is a wellknown personal change coach who, like me, used NLP (neurolinguistic programming) to get good at reading other people. I recently signed up to get his email newsletter and this film came to me in one of those. I like his work, but […]

How to sell money at a discount

Although I didn’t realize it until 30 years later, my first real job in the sales profession was all about selling money at a discount. I initially thought I was selling spare parts and while that’s partially true it’s far from the whole truth. The company I worked for sold long-lasting high quality rebuilt wear resistant replacement parts to the […]

Boeuf BOURGUIGNON

Editor’s note: This dish by Ron Smith of Virginia sounds soooooo good I think I will make it this weekend. It’s a good middle-ofthe winter meal. Once in a while I run into Ron at the grocery store and he has helped me a couple times when I was in a quandary, looking for a specific recipe ingredient the store […]

DATING SEASON: Open all year round

With Valentine’s Day not far away, I started thinking about friends that are currently involved in relationships and those of us that aren’t but might like to be if we could find the “right” person. Finding the “right”person. Now there’s a real challenge. There are a number of time tested ways to meet people and places that people traditionally look, […]
